DESCRIPTION:The Jax River City Pride Parade is a 1.5-mile celebration through the Historic Avondale/Riverside/5 Points community. The Jax River City Pride Parade starts at Historic Willow Branch Park\, which held the first Jacksonville LGBT Pride Picnic in 1978. The Jax River City Pride Parade passed thousands of supporters along the route. \nJax River City Pride wants to say thank you to everyone who participated and to those who watched the Jax River City Pride Parade as it came through our city. \n  \nJax River City Pride Festival includes live entertainment and dozens of local vendors\, including artists\, businesses\, and other non-profits\, as well as multiple food vendors.  It consists of a Family Fun Zone with face painting\, a rock wall\, and inflatables. \nJax River City Pride Cabaret is the crown jewel that showcases national acts worldwide and attracts thousands of attendees each year.

DESCRIPTION:AHF Advocacy\, Harriet Hancock LGBTQ+ Center\, ACLU of SC\, other partnering organizations\, Allys\, and community groups will gather on the Statehouse Entrance\, 1100 Gervais St. sidewalks at 10:00 am to set up organizational tables and sign up and distribute Protest materials/Information. Then\, at 11:00 am\, we will march and rally around the outer and inner walkways of the House grounds for 30-45 minutes\, then onto the center Statehouse grounds and gather around the speakers’ podium\, where the host and speakers will greet the marchers/participants. \n(The March Speaker’s timetable is still being planned and worked out.) \nWe will close the March at 1:00 pm and head to the Harriet Hancock LGBTQ+ Center\, 1108 Woodrow Street\, Columbia\, SC 29205\, for our Monthly First Sunday Potluck Celebration from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The day will conclude with the HHC LGBTQ+ Youth OutLoud Monthly Group Meeting (Ages 11-17) 5-7 pm. \nWe will provide the names and contact information of all the other participating organizations in South Carolina. We have signed on with ten (10) Organizations so far. More to come aboard!

It all begin in 1997 when a small gathering of Black LGBTQ individuals came together to party and hang out with one another. As the years continued\, the community demanded a more formalized celebratory weekend with a host hotel\, organized parties/events\, and shows to provide a safe space for this community gathering.
