AHF and many other organizations in Las Vegas, NV showing our support for people living with HIV and the importance our of community efforts on this day to bring awareness behind the meaning of this particularly important and groundbreaking message (U=U Day Nevada).
Being undetectable means that a person living with HIV is scientifically proven to be virally suppressed and unable to transmit HIV to their sexual partner; it shows how far the advancements in medication have come. Not only does the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) support this, but so does Lancet, NIH, The World Health Organization (WHO), PEPFAR, and NASTAD along with so many leading organizations in the field around the world. Nevada has made momentous changes for people who live with HIV by modernizing our HIV criminalization laws to what modern science is today and now supporting the U=U message/movement that now has 1,050 partners in over in over 100 countries that are working hard to end the transmission of HIV by first prioritizing people who live with HIV.
